Career paths as Programmatic Functions.

The University of Utah, School of Computing defines Functions as ‘“self contained” modules of code that accomplish a specific task’.

That is the same way I view career paths.

I think of them as programmatic functions you call when you need them for the software that is your life’s story.

So you don’t do things because you are ‘destined to do them’ or you have a passion for them.

You do them because they have a use…. for that period.

I am in love with technology and all it’s feverish evolutions but I’d probably won’t bother with Tech if it didn’t help with automating stuff.

Same way I feel about my career in Business Development.

It made sense to delve into that to understand how the emotions of Human beings unconsciously affect their perception of value leading to sale.

Or even how Business models help with extracting more commercial value from products.

If I needed to be a pilot for some period of my life, then it would make sense to explore that career path. I just hope I never have to… lol.
