One Slot available

I like those interview sessions where the focus moves from the individual and their CV to the job role and company strategy. It’s very subtle and you almost miss the transition. As the interviewee, you don’t engineer it.

As the interviewer, you just find yourself thinking ‘wait a minute, this is an interview not a team meeting’.

Now, some people are very qualified with respect to their cover letter and resume but sadly, they don’t get the job.

They don’t get it because there is only one slot.

One choice to be made.

And there is this one person who comes armed, lethal and ready.

Their resume is ok, but not the best.

However, they have so prepared for the role so much that they might have unconsciously stepped into it already.

They’ve researched the past and present of your company and the role.

They have documented the future from their understanding.... they are ready.

If you have to interview for a role, it is advisable to assume this person exists. But it is better to plan to be that person.
